information
this is the part where i explain to you that this is a site with a bunch of music and stuff that i put together. it's nothing special. read the side, read the descriptions, listen to the music, tell me how good i am. that's all i ask. thanks. :P (and, if you've been living under a rock and don't know how to use a computer, when you go to download, right click [mac = hold click] and choose "save as"...please and thanks.)
* * *rashiku ikimasho (earbleed remix)
filetype: mp3
filesize: 3.0 mb
length: 3:17
bitrate: 128 kbps
software used: fruityloops
information: this song is one of the sailor moon SuperS closing theme songs. a fairly popular one, at that. i don't really know what possessed me to make a remix of this song. it's not even a real remix...there's nothing really different. anyway, it was the first one i made with this program. it took me the longest, too, because i didn't really know how to work the program (and it shows). it was also a pain because i ended up programming in every single little note by hand (there's a much faster way that i figured out later). but, yeah, i kind of wish i figured out how to change the volume of each instrument back then. i don't have the original project file anymore, unfortunately. oh well.

information: i was experimenting with creating loops, and this is what i got. well, this is the best i could come up with. pretty much every loop i've made has sucked pretty bad, so this is the best i came up with.

filetype: mp3
filesize: 2.6 mb
length: 1:07
bitrate: 320 kbps
software used: fruityloops
information: another experimental song, but not a loop. this was a test of using groups of instruments (known as patterns in fruityloops) on a timeline, rather than just having the entire song be grouped in one pattern. that way you can turn one pattern on or off at any given time. yeah, it makes sense in my head, and this was just me trying to get a feel for using patterns on a timeline.
DOWNLOADla soldier (anti-equalizer remix)
filetype: mp3
filesize: 3.1 mb
length: 2:17
bitrate: 192 kbps
software used: fruityloops
information: this is a song that i always wanted to do a remix of. one of the most popular (if not
the most popular) song in seramyu: la soldier. it was actually rather difficult. i went through so many problems making this, and i must have exported this file about fifty times and then decided that i didn't like it anymore, so i went back and changed an instrument or two. there was one point where i was satisfied, but there were some glitches in some instruments that i really found irritating (although it really wasn't that noticable), so i revamped many of the instruments en masse, and this is the new version. try listening to it with headphones or some sort of stereo sound. one of the instruments has this weird stereo effect that i just love.
DOWNLOADouter senshi bgm (nosebleed remix)
filetype: mp3
filesize: 5.3 mb
length: 4:36
bitrate: 160 kbps
software used: fruityloops
information: and back to the sailor moon anime we go. of course i had to try
something with the coolest background music
ever! the only things that i really liked about doing this was the freaky little adlibbed guitar solo i inserted, plus the freaky filter i put onto the entire thing. since i did this song, i totally forgot how to do that freaky filter. so i guess this is the only song that will have it that i'll ever make. o_O
DOWNLOADgeki! teikoku kagekidan (half baked remix)
filetype: mp3
filesize: 2.3 mb
length: 2:30
bitrate: 128 kbps
software used: fruityloops
information: and for something completely different, i did a remix of one of my favourite anime theme songs! the theme from sakura taisen! and you can totally tell i like inserting random adlibbed solos into it, can't you? :D when i made this file, i was actually very, very surprised how well it turned out. i still am, but i'm used to it since i've heard it a billion times now. the thing that caused me the most grief with this song was figuring out the percussion. there's so many different percussion riffs that i needed to figure out on a measure-by-measure basis. i created so many patterns for the song that were only used for, like, maybe one measure. oh well, it's worth it.
DOWNLOADsee me chasin' after you
filetype: mp3
filesize: 2.8 mb
length: 2:01
bitrate: 192 kbps
software used: fruityloops
information: back to seramyu!! yay! this was probably my favourite song to do. both songs "see me, boku-tachi no jidai" and "chasin' after you" are featured in this remix. it's a combination of the two songs into a fun techno-ish remix. most of the time spent on the creation of this song was in a midi editor, simply figuring out the notes to use when and where (along with transposing, ugh). but i'm more than happy with the way it turned out.

everlasting moonlight (subete subete subete remix)
filetype: mp3
filesize: 4.3 mb
length: 2:58
bitrate: 192 kbps
software used: fruityloops
information: yay... more seramyu. i totally didn't plan on making this remix. i started playing around with the notes, and... yeah, the rest is history. honestly, this one's a little sloppy. oh well. i wanted to do a few more things with this, but i gave up. mostly because i wanted to finish "the sunlit garden" remix i was doing...

filesize: 2.9 mb

bitrate: 192 kbps
software used: fruityloops
information: my first crack at an utena remix. not that there's a whole lot in utena TO remix. the music in that series is untouchable. i guess that means this remix is blasphemous. oh well. i like the way it turned out. it's very... not piano. i used some of the same instruments as my "everlasting moonlight" remix (because i did both of them at about the same time).

mou ii no (hyaku san juu go remix)
filetype: mp3
filesize: 1.6 mb
length: 0:40
bitrate: 320 kbps
software used: fruityloops
information: something a little different... this isn't an instrumental. since the eien densetsu track of this song is strictly vocals, of course i just HAD to put some freaky music to it. :D so, yeah, mao kawasaki's vocals are in it. in stereo (listen closely with headphones). my favourite part about this remix is how i got to totally make up whatever chords i wanted (based on the melody). :D and, yes, the song is supposed to be that short. the original song is 34 seconds long. :P

bitrate: 160 kbps
information: shifting away from my own works, this is an mp3 of one of the tracks from our school band cd that we put out when i was in grade seven. it was my first year of band. i play flute in this song. we sound really awful, but come on...it was all our first year in band. we sound pretty good for beginners. we won first place in a festival, even! and, yes, i know the flutes are so out of tune it hurts. let's just pretend that i was the only one in tune. yeah. also, i love how the percussion never play together. >:D

information: the other song that we had on the school band's cd. in this one i play the snare drum. you can actually hear me and only me!! i rock. just listen and hear. >:D generally speaking, i like this song much more than the other. it just sounds more exciting. :D
DOWNLOADstarlights bgm (sheet music)
filetype: pdf
filesize: 70 kb
information: this is one of three pdf sheet music files that i did up. all three are starlights-related, for some odd reason. blame erin, i guess. i used to do up sheet music (messily) so that i could play songs, such as these, on my sax. it's probably a good idea to get adobe acrobat reader, or something, to view these. this one is some starlights (anime) background music. obviously.
DOWNLOADprincess kakyuu bgm (sheet music)

information: just a small pdf of the tune to princess kakyuu's background music in the anime.
DOWNLOADsee me, boku-tachi no jidai (sheet music)
filetype: pdf
filesize: 54 kb
information: a pdf of the melody for the three lights' seramyu song "see me, boku-tachi no jidai".
DOWNLOADfiles in progress: i did a karaoke and instrumental version of "see me, boku-tachi no jidai" (just the one song, not a combination of "chasin' after you" like i already did), but it's other computer that died. who knows when or if i'll be able to get those files off that PoS box. -_-
what's going on?
let me first start off by saying that i'm a very musical person. i enjoy listening to music, but i particularily enjoy making music. i make music in various ways. i play a variety of instruments. in grade seven i played the flute and snare drum in band (not simultaneously...now that would be skillful), from grade eight to grade twelve i played the tenor sax. i played the recorder in elementary school, lol. i still play the recorder. it's fun, it's easy, it rocks my lame world.
during my high school days i started composing little tunes: some large, some small, many incomplete. i did it on my computer in midi format. i did remixes of songs in midi format, even. eventually that evolved into composing and remixing in mp3 format using sampled instruments and wav files (props go out to taking an electronic music course in university). this is what's mainly featured here: mp3s of my music. well, i can't really say it's my music. most of these are remixes of songs that aren't mine. i've even put up a couple of mp3s from my early band years (grade seven, to be precise). and then there's some sheet music, and other music-related things.
i used to have a collective of all the many midis i had done as part of a geocities site i did waaaaaaay back (like, years and years ago). so let's just say that this is an evolution of that. so don't suck up my bandwidth by downloading these songs over and over. >:P

okay, yeah, i didn't make this layout. i don't really know why i didn't make my own. i know how to make layouts. i know how to make layouts well, if i do say so myself. but for some reason i didn't really feel like it for this page. probably because i'm more interested in sharing the content than having the page it's dished out on looking pretty. although this layout
is pretty. layout ©
Night Frost &
Blue Moon Designs. and, apparently, the image used in this layout is from a lovely site called
MangAnime. and i don't even watch chobits, either. isn't that funny? it's orangey and pretty-looking... that's why i picked it. :D i hope they don't kill me for tweaking the layout a bit (the css positioning and alignment was
so not to my liking). oh well.
