we planned it around a few things, one of which being the meeting up with meghan, also known as venuswillow around the internet. ;D and we were hoping to meet up with simon, too, who would probably kill me if i didn't call him when i came to edmonton.
as i thought about how i'd like to do this site, i must have thought of a million ways of doing it. lots of them were really good ideas, and even burg came up with some good ones, but i decided to just make it as simple as i could. i wasn't even going to talk in first person originally, but i decided against that. even though i'm talking about me and my friends, it's really a site with contributions from everyone involved. it's just way easier for me to write all the content up in first person. not only that, but it's hosted on my site so i can make this site however i want. :P
i'll have you know that i made this site a good half-a-year after the fact, so i apologize for any inaccuracies or things i have forgotten. i should have made it a lot sooner, and i was planning on doing so, but things just didn't happen and there's nothing i can do about it now. but it's done now, so there!!
about the layout...um...you'll notice that i used random colours everywhere. and when i say random, i mean it. i just randomly picked some colours for the background, the text, the links, everything pretty much. as long as they didn't clash too much i was happy. even the fonts i used are randomly picked. i don't know why i did this...but i felt it to be approprite considering the type of site it is and the content within it. the drawing of the butterfly was done by meghan, of course, and the picture at the top can be found in the images section. if you don't get it, it's a picture of nobody (namely burg and i) not suspecting the butterfly. the butterfly is a balloon you'll hear all about. :B
and, of course, there's some random japanese in the images section. what's a site of mine without some random japanese that very few people will understand!? :D if you ask nicely, i might tell you what it says. :D it's not really all that special, actually. the only thing that's evil is what it says next to burg. >:D
while i'm at it, i might as well explain the images section. each picture has a picture of who took it next to it. like, if i took the picture, there will be a picture of me next to it in a circle and stuff. you'll see, it's pretty self-explanitory.
i recommend you read all the writings first. there's a lot of images, so don't go straight to them. :P read what i have to say first so you'll understand the pictures later. >P
about the pictures themselves, they're uncropped and stuff. i don't quite know why i'm so picky about that, either...i like the off-center pictures. it shows character in a group of photos, you know? and i think it looks good when you have a set of pictures all of relatively identical dimensions. it makes it look like you're looking through sets of real photos. which is why i didn't take out the pictures that didn't turn out. >:D and i didn't take out the boring pictures, either. so you get to live through all that, but i think it makes it feel more real. call me a freak, i guess, but that's the way i wanted it. :P i apologize in advance for mocking burg so much on this site. sorry burg. :D
and i have a feeling this site won't work in netscape. oh well.
